“Six Mistakes Mankind Keeps Making Century After Century”

Who was Cicero?

Marcus Tullius Cicero was born in 106 BC on a hill town 100 kilometers southeast of Rome. Marcus was a Roman statesman, lawyer, writer, and skeptic. One would argue that he was also an outstanding orator. Cicero, as he is most commonly known, was well recognized for his orations on society and politics.

Ancient Wisdom For the Modern Era

Most of Cicero’s wisdom is evergreen and the “advice” he gives future generations below, seems to be written for this very era. Also, we have to keep in mind that history is not linear but cyclical. So, everything that is now, was before, and everything that has happened, will be again.

“Six mistakes makind keeps making century after century”

1.Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others.
2.Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected;
3.Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it.
4.Refusing to set aside trivial preferences.
5.Neglecting development and refinement of the mind.
6.Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.
